How to find out where to pick up or drop off a passenger at the Centennial Airport?

Centennial Airport is a general aviation airport, meaning that the airport does not have scheduled commercial airline service, nor do they have traditional airline terminals.

Centennial Airport APA | Centennial Airport Denver (KAPA)

In order to pickup or drop off passengers or crew, it is very important to know which one of the four FBOs (fixed base operators) the aircraft will be using, before arriving at the airport. It is also good to know the aircraft’s tail number.

Depending on which FBO your aircraft is using will determine which side of the airport you’ll need to travel.

Two FBOs are located on the NORTH side of the airfield:

Denver jetCenter

TAC Air

The remaining two FBOs are located on the SOUTH side of the airport:

Signature Flight Support

Modern Aviation

It is very important to remember that Centennial Airport does not offer scheduled airline service. All flights originating or arriving at Centennial Airport are either private or corporate charter. Please contact any of our charter operators, directly, for information about the benefits of booking a private charter.

COVID-19 Update:

Effective Feb. 2, 2021, federal law requires individuals to wear a facemask when traveling, including travel by airline and all aircraft for hire to include FAR Part 135, Part 380, and all flight schools including Part 141. CLICK HERE TO READ THE ORDERS.

Centennial Airport invites pilots to hang out at the new hangar — once pandemic is over

Centennial Airport (KAPA) recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new aviation community and administrative facility. The building, dubbed “the hangar,” is the new home of the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority and will be a place for the aviation community to gather as soon as COVID-19 public health restrictions permit, airport officials say.

Features and amenities of the new 15,805-square-foot building include:

  • Three conference rooms with a seating capacity from 18 to 50 persons
  • Updated airport operations center
  • Emergency operations center
  • Energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the building
  • Solar-ready carport and building roof
  • Employee wellness center

“Unfortunately, the pandemic has thrown us for loop,” said Olislagers of the inability to fully open the building to the public. “But much like an aerial loop, we will come full circle and back to where we started — and that’s what this building is all about, and we look forward to the time when we can gather in person and share this milestone with our community.”

At no cost to local taxpayers, the majority of the $8 million project was financed by a loan from the Colorado State Infrastructure Bank and the remainder by the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority. Ground Transportation Options at the Centennial Airport

Centennial Airport has a few different ground transportation options to choose from. You can rent a car, take Uber, Lyft, book a limo, taxi, shuttle, private car service and relax, and let someone else do all the driving for you. Whether you are traveling to Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge or other surrounding resorts, Centennial Airport APA has multiple options for all of your ground transportation needs.

  • Rental Cars – Most national car-rental companies have cars available year-round. Enterprise Rent a Car is located with 5 minutes from Centennial Airport.  Make sure you reserve a 4-wheel drive SUV especially for unpredicted winter travel to the mountains. Any other car would not get you safe to your destination in snowy and icy weather conditions.
  • Uber and Lyft are both available in the city of Denver but they are very unreliable, especially during peak winter season. Most Uber drivers will not be willing to drive to the mountains in bad weather conditions due to not having proper equipment for safe driving through mountain roads. We always recommend booking your transportation in advance for easy and stress-free travel from Centennial Airport to Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone or Breckenridge.
  • Private Airport Shuttles and Private Car Services are always a way to go for a long 2-hour travel to Vail or Beaver Creek Ski Resorts! And keep in mind that 2 hour drive can always turn into 3-4 hour drive to Vail, Colorado if the road gets closed down which happens a lot in the mountains. Having a nice comfortable and safe vehicle would be very helpful. Several private airport shuttles and limo services offer transportation to and from Centennial Airport to Vail starting at $450 for a one-way transfer.
