Best Hotels in Vail
Best Hotels in Vail, Colorado
Whether planning a vacation in Vail, Colorado, or relocating to the beautiful mountain area, find out what others have realized. All year round, not only in winter, Vail is an absolutely special place! We have put together a list of the Best Hotels in Vail.
Grand Hyatt Vail
Set at the base of Vail Ski Resort, the ski-in, ski-out Grand Hyatt Vail offers 4 seasons of alpine adventure and the most convenient access to Vail Mountain skiing and snowboarding. This chic resort near I-70 is set along Gore Creek, 1 mile from Lionshead Village and 2 miles from Vail Village. The resort has two heated outdoor pools, three hot tubs, and a fitness center, and guests can enjoy a drink at the fireside lounge.
The hotel’s staff can assist with gear rentals and store skis, poles, and boots. Moreover, the hotel provides themed seasonal offerings ranging from specialty après-ski drinks to build-your-own hot chocolate to live jazz music.
The 285 rooms and suites are outfitted in cool tones of gray, blue, white, and chocolate and come equipped with leather headboards, work desks, flat-screen TVs, and glass rainfall showers (plus freestanding tubs in some accommodations). Every room comes with a private bathroom. For your comfort, you will find bathrobes and slippers.
Outside the rooms, travelers will find a spa, a 24-hour fitness center, and more than 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. The Grand Hyatt Vail also houses three dining venues: a fireside lounge and an upscale full-service restaurant. There is also a free shuttle service and an onsite market at the property. Other amenities on-site include outdoor fire pits and seasonal specials.
Previous travelers were impressed with the level of luxury that pervades this Vail resort, noting well-appointed accommodations and friendly staff members. However, some note that the room rates here are pricey, especially during the high winter and summer seasons.
With winter rates often in the same $500 to $1,000 range, just as you will find at the Park Hyatt, we are not surprised the Grand Hyatt Vail has been added to Hyatt’s collection of Category 7 properties. It would have been nice if Hyatt had ranked it a Category 6, given that it’s not ski-in/out for all guests.
How do you get to Grand Hyatt in Vail?
The nearest airport is Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), 33 miles from Grand Hyatt Vail. It takes about 40 minutes to get from Eagle Airport to Vail Grand Hyatt. Denver International Airport (DIA) is located 121 miles east of Vail. It takes about 2 hours and 5 minutes to travel from the Denver Airport to Grand Hyatt in Vail. Both airports offer direct flights from major cities and other regional airports.
Bottom Line
The Grand Hyatt Vail is Hyatt’s only property in Vail, though Hyatt does have ski properties in locations such as Beaver Creek, Keystone, Aspen and Park City. This hotel will not have the five-star location convenience of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, but still fresh off a massive renovation, it is a lovely place to stay while skiing in Vail.

And, as a member of the Vail Resorts family, each of our ski resort destinations provides their guests with an exceptional, seamless experience on- and off-mountain.
Just steps from world-class skiing in the heart of Lionshead Village, The Arrabelle at Vail Square is a sumptuous ultra-luxury hotel capturing the romance of Vail’s alpine legacy. Sitting on the western edge of Vail, The Arrabelle at Vail Square takes a different approach to ski lodging. Instead of forest-inspired colors with antler wall hangings, this member of the RockResort family boasts a European ambiance, complete with grand chandeliers and ornate marble arches.
All rooms boast fireplaces, deep soaking tubs, free WiFi, and flat-screen TVs with satellite channels. Other amenities available to guests include heated floors, MP3 docks, and DVD players. Bathrooms include separate bathtubs and showers with deep soaking bathtubs, bathrobes, slippers, and designer toiletries. Recreational amenities at the resort include ski-in/ski-out access, an outdoor pool, a steam room, and a fitness center.
Visit the onsite RockResorts Spa for alpine inspired treatments that incorporate natural ingredients. Or grab a bite at Tavern on the Square, where comfort food meets casual mountain elegance.
Please note: Guests will be charged a separate, daily $75 Resort Fee per night for the first bedroom, and $50 Resort Fee per night for any additional bedroom. This resort fee is taxable and provides our guests with several services, including parking for multiple vehicles, ski/Bike valet, in-room iPads, rollaway beds, cribs, additional guests, and more.
When you’re not on the slopes, indulge in a spa treatment, soak in the rooftop hot tub or enjoy a cocktail on the après-ski deck as you look out over Vail Square. When dinnertime rolls around, previous visitors highly recommend reserving a table at Tavern on the Square, saying that the homestyle comfort cuisine hits the spot after a long, snowy day.
Guests of The Arrabelle can enjoy fine dining at Tavern on the Square. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant features a two-story fireplace in the hotel’s Great Room. If they prefer, guests can enjoy après-ski cocktails on the terrace.
How do you get to Arrabelle at Vail?
Vail Golf Club is 3 miles away from this resort. Eagle Airport is 38 minutes’ drive away from Arrabelle at Vail. Eagle Regional Airport (EGE) is located 34 miles west of Vail. Denver International Airport (DEN) is located 120 miles east of Vail. It is a two-hour drive, weather-dependent. Both airports offer direct flights from major cities and other regional airports.
Once you are in town, you will not need a car. Instead, take advantage of the free buses between Vail Village and Lionshead Village – which is just one of the great advantages of living in Vail!
Bottom Line
At the base of Eagle Bahn Gondola, with panoramic mountain views, the Arrabelle brings authentic, uber-charming Austrian-style design to Vail. While it retains its luxurious space and privacy, it also offers six-star amenities and a fully immersive mountain experience. Details like a handcrafted wine cave and imported French antiques are just icing on the cake.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail
The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail has earned a reputation as one of the city’s premier lodging options. And it’s easy to see why: The location of this Four Seasons property in central Vail allows easy access to the slopes, while those who opt for a day of rest have access to a full-service spa and an outdoor pool. Be warned that some guests say the money you spend here may take your breath away; however, visitors say that the experience (and service) is worth the expense.
The Four Seasons has all the trappings of a cozy ski chalet — stone and wood accents inside and out, sloping roof eaves, cozy leather furniture — but on a decidedly grand scale. (Each of the 121 rooms starts at 575 square feet, and the public spaces are impressive.) But the property effectively blends the typical Four Seasons elegance with a snug mountain feel.
The Four Seasons is situated on Vail Road right off of Frontage Road and I-70, within walking distance of the slopes and Vail Village. It is not a ski-in, ski-out property, but the hotel does offer frequent shuttles to town.
No matter which room you go for, it will be spacious. The Four Seasons’ 575-square-foot standard room is the largest in Vail Valley. Even the standard rooms are among the largest in Vail Valley and come with gas fireplaces, balconies, wood-floor entryways, and deep walk-in closets. Luxurious limestone bathrooms have a stand-alone soaking tub, a double sink, a glass-enclosed shower, and L’Occitane bath products. Almost every room has a balcony complete with chairs and a table, which is a nice amenity —especially with a view of the snow-covered mountain brimming with skiers in front of you.
The Four Seasons offers a contemporary restaurant and the cozy Fireside Lounge with great mountain views, which are simply splendid when visiting Vail in the Fall.
Head to The Remedy Bar and grab a table in front of the 165-inch television, the largest in the whole valley. Then, order a craft cocktail, an elevated bar snack, or maybe a pizza with house-made buffalo pepperoni. For something more substantial, dine on superb American fare at the property’s modern steakhouse, Flame. Signature steaks and seasonal veggies (think Eagle Springs iceberg wedge with cabernet-pickled onions and maple-candied bacon) are always good here.
Ski Concierge services are offered at Vail Four Seasons. The ski concierge can arrange equipment rentals and lessons and provide maps and weather conditions. When you check into the hotel, a boot fitter will take measurements and preferences and send them to the ski concierge so that your warmed boots and waxed skis will be ready and waiting. Getting ready for a day on the slopes doesn’t get much easier than this. A heated path takes you from the hotel to a three-story building at the base of Gondola One, which houses the ski concierge.
How do you get to Four Seasons Resort in Vail?
Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are 0.7 mi away from this resort. Beaver Creek Ski Area is 23 minutes’ drive away. Vail Four Seasons Resort is 35 minutes and 33 miles from Eagle County Regional Airport. Denver International Airport is a 2-hour-15-minute drive from the hotel. To get from either airport to Four Seasons Resort in Vail, rent a car or take a shuttle. A private airport shuttle is always the way to go!
If you are traveling to Vail from the west along Interstate 70 during winter, it is recommended (and sometimes required) that your vehicle have appropriate snow tires, four-wheel drive, and/or chains. The route requires driving over several passes known to have dangerous winter conditions.

Tivoli Lodge
Tivoli Lodge is conveniently located at the base of Vail Mountain on the eastern edge of Vail Village. The heart of the Village and all of its shops and dining options on Bridge Street are no more than three minutes on foot, and the Golden Peak ski lifts are about a five-minute walk away.
According to past guests, Tivoli Lodge offers an ideal location near White River National Forest and Vail, Colorado‘s world-renowned ski slopes. A member of the Gemstone Collection, this mountain-inspired hotel features two outdoor hot tubs, a fire pit, the Brown Hound Lobby Lounge (where children 4 and younger eat for free), and fitness and business centers. During ski season, visitors can enjoy complimentary ski valet services, as well as free cookies and beverages.
This family-run ski lodge was rebuilt in 2006 as a modern, upscale property, and it exudes a warm and rustic ambiance. The spacious lobby is classy and comfortable, with brown leather sofas and armchairs in front of a massive stone fireplace. The new European-style architecture blends perfectly into the surrounding natural environment, with unobstructed views of Vail’s Golden Peak ski area and within steps of the Vista Bahn ski lift. The Tivoli Lode provides an intimate and unique setting in Vail, Colorado, to host a meeting or corporate retreat.
Rooms at the Tivoli Lodge are homey and warm, with rustic touches such as lodge-style pinewood furniture and matching trim. Crimson carpet and drapes add a rich, sophisticated feel, as do tan-granite counters, brown leather bar stools, and armchairs. Each of the 66 guest rooms and suites offers mountain or village views, a minifridge, a microwave, and a flat-screen TV. Gas fireplaces and balconies are available in select rooms as well. Its rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with kitchenettes and elegant marble bathrooms, some of which feature separate tubs and walk-in showers.
Amenities at Tivoli Lodge are focused on providing skiers with a comfortable stay, including free ski valet and storage services so guests don’t have to lug their equipment around. After long days on the slopes, two spacious outdoor whirlpools are available to soothe aching muscles. For those who want to cross-train, the fitness center has a few cardio machines and a rack of free weights.
A breakfast buffet with continental and hot offerings is available (for a fee) at the Brown Hound Lounge. The Lounge also serves custom cocktails, fine wine, and craft beers later in the day.
This hotel is slopeside to Vail Ski Resort and adjacent to Vail Fine Art Gallery. Vail Golf Club is 1.6 mi away. Denver International Airport is 120 mi away.
What is the best way to get to Tivoli Lodge?
Eagle County Regional Airport is a short 40-minute drive, while Denver International Airport is about two hours away by car. Most visitors fly into Vail/Eagle County Airport (EGE). If you fly into Denver Airport, you might think about renting a car, but you should be warned that the 100+ mile trip from Denver takes you over two mountain passes at 11,000 and 10,600 feet. The safest way to get from Denver Airport to Vail is to take a private airport shuttle service such as Blue Sky Private Car Service, which employs professional drivers who are familiar with the drive and road conditions.
Bottom Line
Tivoli Lodge is a modern, upscale boutique ski lodge set on the eastern edge of Vail Village, just a brief walk from both the ski lifts and the heart of town. Nestled in the heart of Vail Village is the recently rebuilt, family-owned Tivoli Lodge, a luxury ski resort known for years for providing friendly, caring, personal service. Rates are competitive, and, as such, they often sell out in peak season.
